STB Pro+ Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
STB Pro+ ("the app") is a media player for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. It is made by the STB Pro+ team ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version: we don't collect any data about you. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We run no server that your data goes to. Your sources, logins, favourites and history stay on your devices. Some features send what they need straight to the service you're using: your TV provider, a subtitle service, or Apple.
What stays on your device
The app keeps the following on your device, inside its own storage:
- Your sources. These are the playlist addresses, Xtream Codes server addresses and usernames, and portal addresses you add. Passwords, MAC addresses, serial numbers, device IDs and other portal secrets are kept in the system Keychain.
- Your library. This is the channel, guide, movie and series information your provider sends, and the artwork it links to (cached).
- Your use of the app. Profiles, favourites, your own channel lists, hidden channels, watch progress and history, recent searches, locked categories and settings. A profile PIN is stored only as a one-way hash. If you turn on Face ID or Touch ID for a profile, its PIN is also kept in this device's Keychain, never synced, and released only after the system's biometric check. The app never sees your biometric data.
- Downloads and recordings you make, as files on your device.
- Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts. A small summary for them (favourite channels, your last channel, what you're watching) is kept in a container shared only with the app's own widgets.
We have no access to any of this. If you delete the app, it is deleted with it, except Keychain items, which the system may keep until you remove them.
What the app sends, and to whom
- Your TV provider. To load your playlists, guide and streams, the app connects to the addresses you entered. It sends what that service needs, such as your username and password or your portal's device identifiers. Your provider's own privacy policy covers what it does with this. Your device's IP address is visible to any server it connects to.
- Subtitle services (only when you search for subtitles). The app sends the title, year, season and episode number, and your preferred languages to OpenSubtitles (opensubtitles.com) or Podnapisi (podnapisi.net), and downloads the subtitle you choose. If you sign in to OpenSubtitles in the app, your OpenSubtitles username and password are sent only to OpenSubtitles, and are kept in your Keychain. These services' own privacy policies apply.
- Web links. The IMDb and Trailer buttons open a public web page in your browser. On Apple TV they show a QR code instead. The app itself fetches nothing from those sites.
- Your local network. If you choose to, the app can send a backup to an Apple TV on your network, or serve a stream to your own Apple TV for AirPlay. This traffic stays on your local network.
- Backups. A backup file is made only when you ask for one, and goes only where you save or send it. Secrets in a backup are encrypted with a passphrase you choose.
- iCloud Sync (only if you turn it on). Your sources with their passwords and portal identifiers, profiles, favourites, watch progress, your own lists, hidden channels and profile PINs are synced between your devices through your own private iCloud database, end-to-end encrypted, and your tab layout through iCloud key-value storage. iCloud backups of your settings work the same way. Apple stores this under your Apple Account; we cannot read it. Turn it off in Settings › iCloud Sync.
- Apple. Purchases, subscriptions, the free trial, refunds and Family Sharing are handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. The app only checks with StoreKit whether STB Pro+ is unlocked on your device. Apple's privacy policy applies to the App Store.
What we do not do
- We don't collect, store or sell personal data.
- We don't use analytics, crash reporting, advertising or attribution SDKs.
- We don't track you across apps and websites, and we don't use the advertising identifier.
- We don't provide, host or recommend any TV content or sources.
Children
The app isn't directed at children, and we collect no data from anyone, including children. Parents can use Kids profiles, PIN locks and locked categories to control what a child can open.
Your choices
Everything the app keeps can be removed from the app: delete a source, profile, download or recording, or clear the history. You can also delete the app. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date above.
